Description
The mill appears to date back to the first half of the 15th century. Although little remains of the original structure, enough survives to understand how it worked.
Upstream, a stone wall was built to retain sufficient water even during dry periods. The water was channeled and, falling onto the mill mechanism, provided the power needed to turn the millstones. After powering the stones, the water flowed out through a channel beneath the flooring. A large perforated stone slab is still in place, which originally supported the millstones above it.
