Description
Recently restored, the building in the hamlet of Tréby in Donnas housed the local cooperative dairy from 1897 to 1980. It holds a dual historical and cultural significance: on one hand, it recalls the village’s rural past, when livestock farming was widespread and essential for the community’s livelihood; on the other, it bears witness to the centuries-old presence in Donnas of the Confraternity of the Holy Spirit, whose charitable work endured almost into modern times.
The rooms once used as the cooperative dairy still preserve the furnishings and equipment once essential for milk collection and cheesemaking, along with the documentation and records of the society itself. In the adjoining hall, entirely decorated with frescoes, visitors can discover the legacy of the confrères du Saint-Esprit.
