Description
The Museum is made up of three buildings, offering visitors a journey into the culture of the Walser people, a Germanic community that settled in the Upper Lys Valley during the Middle Ages in search of new settlements.
Rural House – Puròhus
An 18th-century rural house presenting the authentic living spaces of a Walser home, including the “Wohngade” (combined living and stable area), its vaulted cellar, and the barn, filled with tools that reveal the art of traditional crafts.
House Museum – Pòtzschhus
Inside this “stadel”, the local dialect term for a typical Walser house, permanent exhibitions are displayed, dedicated to the surrounding territory.
