Brief description
A route across the plain south of the village, leading into the park of the magical Castel Savoia. In the second part, Monte Rosa remains in full view throughout.
The trail is marked with signposts. The route may vary depending on conditions, so the available GPS track may not exactly correspond to the actual path.
It is also possible to start from Lake Gover, where a panel displays the route, or from the Weissmatten car park.

Start point description
From the Pont-Saint-Martin motorway exit, turn right towards Turin. At the second roundabout, turn left following the signs for Gressoney.
The road climbs for a few hundred metres before turning right into the Lys Valley, passing through the villages of Lillianes, Fontainemore, Issime, and Gaby.
Continue into the village of Gressoney-Saint-Jean until you reach the large building of the sports hall on the right. A few hundred metres further, on the left, there is a car park.
Trail description
From the left side of the car park, continue by crossing the small bridge and then carefully cross the cross-country ski trail, where the snowshoe route begins.
Head initially north, then skirt around the large meadow and descend towards Weissmatten.
Ascend on the right, not far from the ski slope, until you reach the road. Cross it, then continue, keeping the ski lift to your left, along the Lys stream until you cross it.
The trail descends through the park to reach "Castel Savoia", which remains on your right, then continue until you reach the main road.
Turn right and take the beautiful Passeggiata della Regina.
The trail continues along a contour path through the trees, offering splendid views of Monte Rosa. Just before a side stream, descend to the main road.
Turn left and shortly afterwards reach Lake Gover.
Return along the same route to Castel Savoia. Instead of ascending, follow the path along the right side of the castle, descending almost to the road.
Climb alongside the stream to cross it and rejoin the previously walked path, which leads back to the car.
