Start point description
From the Pont-Saint-Martin motorway exit, turn right towards Turin. At the second roundabout, turn left in the direction of Gressoney.
After a few hundred metres, turn right onto the Valle del Lys road and follow it all the way to Lillianes. Just before the narrow section of the village, take the road on the right that ascends. At the first junction, continue left.
Ascend the steep mountainside until reaching a fork. Follow the signs for Etoile du Berger. Pass several steep hairpin bends to reach another junction, then continue towards Etoile du Berger, leaving it on the right.
After approximately 1 km, you will reach a small car park where it is possible to leave your vehicle.
Trail description
From the car, continue along the road until you cross the bridge, then proceed on the opposite bank. Reach a hairpin bend and reverse direction completely.
After a short downhill section, the road continues through a larch forest and enters the wide Stoba basin. Upon reaching the first huts, continue almost to the end of the road, then, after the wooded section, ascend the scenic slopes.
The route from here is non-linear. You will reach the small huts of Liet and subsequently the broad saddle, which offers a view over the Piedmontese side.
By ascending to the left along a short but steep section, you reach the small summit, which is unnamed on maps.
The route is indicative only; the safest path should be chosen according to current snow conditions.
