Brief description
Easy hike following a country road, often packed by snowmobiles.
The upper section of the route follows a ridge with several charming small villages, offering views across the opposite slope of the Mont Mars Nature Reserve. The lower section is north-east facing, while the upper section is fully exposed to the sun, and some parts may have sparse snow.
Due to the simplicity of the route, it is a good introduction for snowshoeing beginners.
Up-to-date snow conditions can sometimes be found at www.gulliver.it.

Start point description
From the Pont-Saint-Martin motorway exit, turn right towards Turin. At the second roundabout, turn left in the direction of Gressoney.
The road climbs for a few hundred metres, then take the Lys Valley road on the right, following it to Fontainemore.
Pass through the village centre and continue for less than three kilometres, where on the left you will see the signs for Borney. Follow this road to the hamlet.
At the beginning of the hamlet, take the road that ascends to the right and follow it through a series of hairpin bends.
Continue uphill until, just before reaching the Cara houses, you find on the right the start of the country road where the car can be parked.
Due to the steepness of the road, it is not recommended to drive immediately after a snowfall.
Trail description
From the car park, take the country road and follow it with a gentle ascent. The road continues with a few hairpin bends before emerging into the sunlight near the Chateyroux houses.
From this point onward, the trail is fully exposed to the sun, and temperatures are generally very pleasant. Continue along the road, passing several picturesque villages and scattered houses until you reach the Kiry Chapel, where it is possible to take a lunch break and enjoy both the sun and the panoramic views.
Optionally, you can continue ascending the large meadows above to reach the Brenga houses. In some sections, it is also possible to follow the route of the mule track, which is more challenging.
