Description
Situated at the heart of the historic village, the castle rises across four floors adorned with a pointed-arch mullioned window, a trefoil window, cross-shaped openings, and smaller square windows framed by finely worked stone blocks. Built in the 12th century and expanded in the 15th and 16th centuries, its formidable presence once impressed travelers ascending the Lys Valley, symbolizing the power of the Vallaise family. Sadly, the interior was lost to a retaliatory fire set by Nazi fascists in 1944.
