Roman Bridge

Description

An important testimony to the Romanization of the Aosta Valley in the 1st century BC. Anchored into the living rock on both sides, it rises 25 meters high with a single arch spanning 35 meters. At its base, openings carved into the rock show where the wooden beams once rested to support the stone arch during construction. Iron keystones were added in the late 19th century to reinforce the structure.
