Description
The original church likely coincided with the castle chapel. It was first rebuilt in 1532 and later expanded between 1728 and 1732 under the supervision of master builder Giovanni Ferro from Valsesia.
In 1741, the main altar was created in late Baroque style by Valsesian artist Giovanni Battista Gilardi. Equally remarkable is the 18th-century triumphal arch at the entrance to the presbytery, adorned with a crucifix and statues of the Madonna and Saint John.
The interior walls were frescoed by the renowned Artari painters from Verrès at the end of the 19th century, adding to the church’s artistic significance.
