Description
The Parish Church of Issime is a site of remarkable historical and artistic interest. Originally built in very early times, it is described as “very ancient” in a document dating back to 1184. Initially part of the parish of Perloz, it gained its independence in the early 12th century.
Among the church’s treasured artworks, the most significant is the façade fresco depicting the Last Judgment. Inside, prints were used as models for the façade’s decoration. Due to its outstanding historical and artistic value, the church has been officially designated a National Monument.
