Monumental Ash Tree

The majestic Pessé Ash towers over the trail linking Perloz with its hamlets, its presence inspiring awe among passersby. Still carefully pruned each year to provide winter fodder for goats, it stands rooted atop a dry-stone wall at the village entrance. A large stone cross beneath its canopy bears witness to the enduring faith of the mountain community.
