Description
The Holay Pond Nature Reserve is a small regional protected area established in 1993 at an altitude of 750–790 meters above sea level, where relict species of flora and fauna, rare in the Aosta Valley, are preserved. Among the amphibians, particular interest is drawn by the Smooth Newt (Lissotriton vulgaris) and the Crested Newt (Triturus cristatus), whose presence is not recorded in any other areas of the Aosta Valley.
