Glacières Mill

Description

Powered by the waters of the ‘ru di Marine,’ the Glacières Mill is very old, as evidenced by dates engraved in various parts of the building. The first documented mention dates back to 1501, in the act of enfeoffment of the mill’s operators by the lords of Vallaise. During World War II, the mill was brought back into operation by partisans of the Lys Brigade, and it continued to be used until the early post-war years. Today, the mill is no longer active, but it remains in working condition. Inside, visitors can see the two millstones with wooden hoppers for feeding the grains and troughs for collecting the flour.
