Description
This primitive-style tower, with a square plan, originally belonged to the Lords of Bard and, from the mid-13th century (1242), came under the possession of the House of Savoy.
In 1320, following damage sustained during skirmishes in 1311 between local inhabitants and those from the Valsoana, the tower was completely rebuilt and enhanced with swallowtail merlons.
Primarily, it served as a watchtower throughout the 13th and 14th centuries, offering a strategic vantage point over the surrounding landscape.
