Brochnu Mülli Mill

The Brochnu Mülli Mill is the oldest mill in the San Grato Valley of Issime, dating back to the 13th century. Studies of the remaining structure have revealed its historical layout and operation: the stream was diverted and channeled upstream so that the water flow reached the mill with enough force to drive the millstones.
Thanks to its excellent south-facing exposure, the San Grato Valley has long been intensively cultivated, as evidenced by the many terraces. The mill was an essential structure for grinding the cereals grown in the area.
