Balteo Climbing Park

Donnas

Description

The project includes a Via Ferrata and three climbing walls, specifically designed for beginners and families.
The routes at Masso Vigneti di Reisen pay tribute to the heroic viticulture that patiently and laboriously transformed the slopes between Donnas and Pont-Saint-Martin. The route names are in Patois, the local dialect. The Piramide di Pomerou, on the other hand, is dedicated to important figures and events in the history and life of Donnas.
Via Ferrata delle Peredrette
The route climbs along the rocky ridges rising above the vineyards, gradually opening up to panoramic views of the entire valley, culminating in a spectacular rock blade overlooking the Dora Baltea. For the more adventurous, a short variant offers an extra thrill.
Just before the end of the Via Ferrata, a virtual logbook is available—scanning the QR code with a smartphone connects to the webpage to record your passage.
The ferrata ends on a stunning natural balcony, featuring small pools carved into the rock. On the return, the route follows the Prele valley, among chestnut trees, large boulders, and the characteristic barme.
Duration: approx. 90 minutes for the ascent; 45 minutes for the descent
Difficulty: PD – Equipped section 650 m – Elevation gain 210 m
The route does not present significant technical challenges; the most exposed passage can be avoided. However, it must be traversed with proper via ferrata equipment and techniques—harness, via ferrata kit, and helmet. Visitors are advised to read and follow the safety rules displayed at the start of the ferrata.
