Pirubeck
( 1.228 m)Brief description
A very steep climb leads to a striking rocky outcrop, about fifty metres high, clearly visible from the valley floor.
In 2022, several climbing routes were equipped here, making it a popular spot for rock enthusiasts.
The end of the hike offers a superb viewpoint over the valley below.
Once back at the car, it is well worth visiting the church of Issime.

Start point description
From the Pont-Saint-Martin motorway exit, turn right towards Turin. At the second roundabout, turn left following signs for Gressoney.
The road climbs for a few hundred metres before turning right into the Lys Valley, passing through the villages of Lillianes and Fontainemore.
Continue until you enter Issime, where you will see the church on your right and the car park beside it.
Trail description
From the car park, follow the small road that descends towards the cemetery and continue along the stream until you reach the bridge over the Lys.
After crossing, you will arrive at the Fontaineclaire area.
Leave the road here and cross the area, taking the steep path that climbs towards a rocky wall, which you skirt on the left.
The trail continues steeply until you reach the base of Pirubeck, from where you can enjoy a beautiful view over Issime and the valley floor.
