Start point description

From the Pont-Saint-Martin motorway exit, turn right towards Turin. At the second roundabout, turn left following the signs for Gressoney.
The road climbs for a few hundred meters before turning right into the Lys Valley. Continue along this road, passing through the villages of Lillianes, Fontainemore, Issime, Gaby, and Gressoney-Saint-Jean, until you reach the main village of Gressoney-La-Trinité.
Without entering the village, turn right towards Staffal and follow the road to the end, where two large paid car parks are available.

Trail description

From the lift arrival station, go down to the ground floor and immediately find the start of the trail on your left.
Climb to the left, then cross to the right to reach the Lys Refuge.
From here, continue along the right side of the track, passing—still on the right—the Ponte Hotel until you reach a flat area.
At this point, you need to carefully cross to the other side, watching out for descending skiers.
Continue across the long flat section, moving away from the ski slope, then ascend toward a small col.
Following the slope, cross to the right and climb more steeply until reaching the upper slopes.
Approach the ski slope again, following it briefly, then move away toward a scenic balcony overlooking the valley below.
After a final section along the left side of the ski slope, you reach Salati Pass.
For the descent, follow the track all the way down to Staffal.
