Les Goilles – Goye
Brief description
A very short itinerary that visits the beautiful “goilles” (water pools) of the Ayasse stream.
Three large pools are visible, each with its own name, in the suggested direction of travel: Goille de Valieta, Goille de la Teua (“teua” means “cauldron” or “rock hollow”), and Goille dou Breh (“breh” is the local Hône patois term for cradle).
The erosions carved by the water over centuries highlight the power of the Ayasse stream.
In some sections, there are footbridges which require extra care, especially if walking with children.

Start point description
From the Pont-Saint-Martin motorway exit, turn left towards Aosta. At the roundabout, continue to the left, still heading for Aosta.
Pass through Donnas and reach Bard. After leaving the village, at the roundabout, turn left towards Hône.
Pass through the village of Hône and near its end, take a left turn at the square where the town hall is located. Then follow the road along the right-hand side of the river, and after a few dozen metres, you will reach the car park.
From the Verrès toll booth, turn right towards Turin, pass Arnad until the roundabout, then turn right towards Champorcher.
Trail description
From the car park, follow the stream and cross it via the characteristic footbridge. (Alternatively, you can return and cross the stream via the road bridge and then follow the road.)
Continue to the camper area and follow the asphalt road to the hairpin bend, where you descend slightly to the right. Cross a meadow to reach the iron bridge over the Ayasse stream. On the left, the first "goille" is clearly visible.
The trail continues high above the stream with several footbridges and viewpoints from which you can admire the dramatic erosion of the stream.
At the end of the permissible trail (marked by a “no entry” sign), take the branch that completely reverses direction and leads into the meadows below Vermy.
Now ascend along a steep mule track to the village, where you meet the asphalt road. Follow it to the right, enjoying a fine view of the Fort of Bard, until reaching the regional road.
Just before the regional road, on the right, take the mule track that descends. Cross the regional road twice and take the right-hand mule track that leads into the village.
Pass between the houses (first to the right, then to the left) until you reach the car park.
