Brief description
A beautiful route, but with a very steep section just before reaching the village of Borney.
The village of Borney, perched on a steep grassy slope, highlights the challenges of living in such a harsh environment.
The section between Borney and the wide clearing where Alpe Trome is located crosses a steep wooded area with some ups and downs.
In the lower part of the route, the lovely mulattiere of the Valle dell'Alleigne (or della Legna) is followed, and subsequently the Tor des Géants trail leads back to the car.

From the Verrès motorway junction, turn right towards Turin, pass Arnad, and at the roundabout, turn right towards Champorcher.
Trail description
From the car park, cross the beautiful bridge over the Ayasse stream and, between the houses, take the path on the left which, after a short flat section, ascends into the forest.
You reach a ridge where the path climbs very steeply. Then you enter a grassy area and the village of Borney, shortly before reaching the chapel.
The path climbs a short section of the meadow above before starting a traverse to the right. You cross the steep wooded slopes with some ups and downs until you reach the wide clearing where Alpe Trome is located. In the clearing, the path is not very visible, but knowing you need to reach Alpe Trome, which is clearly visible, there are no problems.
Continue in the same direction across the clearing until you reach the forest, which you cross for a stretch before descending steeply to a bridge. Following a short uphill section of path, you reach the mule track of the Val dell’Alleigne.
Follow it to the right downhill (at one point, just to the right of the path, the monumental ash tree is visible) until you reach Outre l’Eve.
Upon reaching the road, follow it to the right until its end, where you join the Tor des Géants path descending on the right side of the valley. Follow it, cross the Ayasse stream via a bridge, and reach the houses of Salleret.
After a short stretch of asphalt road, take the path on the right which, with a final short asphalt section, leads back to the car.
