Start point description
From the Pont-Saint-Martin motorway exit, turn right towards Torino. At the second roundabout, take a left towards Gressoney.
Continue for a few hundred metres and then turn right onto the road following the Lys Valley, passing through the towns of Lillianes and Fontainemore.
Proceed into the territory of Issime until you reach the village, where the church is visible on the right and there is a car park nearby.
Trail description
The route begins by crossing the village of Issime, where the first ascent starts at its end.
On the way to Gaby, there are no particularly steep sections, allowing time to enjoy the surroundings. Before entering Gaby, on the left, the Sanctuary of Vourry can be seen, and at the village entrance, on the right, are three wooden sculptures followed shortly by the statue of Giosuè Carducci seated on a bench.
Beyond Gaby, the climb becomes steeper as you tackle the Pont Trenta section, eventually reaching the plateau of Gressoney-Saint-Jean where the route levels out. You pass by the elegant Villa Margherita, cross the village centre, and continue along the long plateau.
The final section includes a steeper stretch with two hairpin bends leading to Gressoney-La-Trinité, followed by a final ascent to Staffal, where the road ends.
