Brief description
A short climb that takes us to the villages of Niel and Gruba.
The route ascends the rocky mountainside with wide hairpin bends, offering beautiful views of the valley below, then traverses high to reach the village of Niel.
The village, of Walser origin, features lovely stone buildings.
The road is fully paved.
At Gruba, there is also a restaurant where you can stop for refreshments.

Start point description
From the Pont-Saint-Martin motorway exit, turn right towards Turin. At the second roundabout, turn left towards Gressoney.
The road climbs a few hundred meters before turning right onto the Lys Valley road, passing through the villages of Lillianes, Fontainemore, and Issime.
Reach the center of Gaby, where just before the bridge over the Niel stream, a small road on the left leads down to the convenient car park.
Trail description
Cross the regional road and follow the stream until crossing it.
Now, climb nine hairpin bends that lead up to the houses of Chanton.
From this point, cross the steep rocky slope and, with two more hairpins, reach the village of Niel.
A final hairpin brings you to the small car park at the end of the road.
