Start point description

From the Pont-Saint-Martin motorway exit, turn right towards Turin. At the second roundabout, turn left towards Gressoney.
The road climbs for a few hundred meters, then take the road on the right into the Lys Valley, passing through the villages of Lillianes, Fontainemore, Issime, Gaby, and Gressoney-Saint-Jean, until you reach the main town of Gressoney-La-Trinité.
At the roundabout, turn right towards Staffal, cross the river, and continue to the large square of Punta Jolanda.

Trail description

From the top of the chairlift, continue uphill to cross the ridge (this is the only real ascent).
Once over the ridge, follow a flat track that leads to the large Gabiet dam.
From there, descend to its base and climb the opposite side to reach the caretaker’s house.
Now the path follows the lake, allowing you to enjoy its colors and the view of Monte Rosa in the background.
In some stretches, the trail is a bit uneven, until you reach the beginning of the lake where you cross to the opposite shore.
From here, the route becomes easier, following a track along the shore until you reach the wall of a secondary dam.
Continue briefly on a rural road, then take the path on the left marked with signpost 5B, which descends around the mountain.
At first, you follow the ski service tracks, then rejoin the path that leads back to the chairlift station.
