Start point description
From the Pont-Saint-Martin motorway exit, turn right towards Turin. At the second roundabout, turn left following the signs for Gressoney.
The road climbs for a few hundred meters before turning right into the Lys Valley, passing through the villages of Lillianes, Fontainemore, Issime, and Gaby.
At the end of Gaby’s territory, cross the Lys stream, pass a hairpin turn, and continue up a steep section. Pass the houses of Blatto and reach Trinò, where you should look for a widened spot to park your car.
Trail description
Near the chapel, take the mule track that climbs up to the beautiful Axelbode clearing. From there, continue along the contour path to the village of Rong.
From this point, the trail ascends steeply through the narrow valley on the right-hand side.
Continue along the steep trail until about 1,800 meters, where you cross into the valley floor.
From here, follow the valley floor until you reach Frudiere Pass.
The descent is made along the same route.
