Start point description

From the Pont-Saint-Martin motorway exit, turn right toward Turin. At the second roundabout, turn left toward Gressoney.
After a few hundred meters, take the right turn onto the road following the Lys Valley, passing through the villages of Lillianes, Fontainemore, Issime, Gaby, and Gressoney-Saint-Jean until reaching the downtown of Gressoney-La-Trinité.
At the roundabout, continue right toward Staffal, cross the stream, and proceed until reaching the large Punta Jolanda car park.

Trail description

From the car park, cross the stream and follow the rural road alongside it, with the spectacular view of Monte Rosa always in sight.
A steeper section leads past the village of Biel (which can be visited on the return) and reaches a waterfall. The path then continues on level ground until arriving at the large Staffal square.
Return follows the same route back to the houses of Anderbatt, from where you continue along the road leading to Biel. Biel is definitely worth a stop to admire the scenery, the charming Walser houses, and the little church.
Crossing the village, retrace the path for a short stretch, then cross the Lys stream to reach the well-restored houses of Selsteg. From here, follow a small road to the regional road, cross it, and continue along the rural path to the houses of Tschòbesch, where the descent toward Gohfer begins. Follow a short stretch of road, then take the trail that quickly leads back to the car.
