Start point description

From the Pont-Saint-Martin motorway exit, turn right towards Turin. At the second roundabout, turn left following the signs for Gressoney.
The road climbs for a few hundred meters before turning right onto the Lys Valley road, passing through the municipalities of Lillianes, Fontainemore, and Issime.
Continue to the main village of Gaby, where just before the bridge over the Niel stream, turn right onto the road leading to Niel.
Follow the stream, then cross it and ascend the mountainside via wide switchbacks up to Chanton.
The road narrows and continues all the way to the charming village of Niel, which marks the end of the drive.

Trail description

From the car park, follow the beautiful mule track until you find on your left side and just before the dortoir della Gruba the deviation leading to Col Mologna Grande and Lazouney.
Climb quickly along the stone steps to reach the upper basin.
The trail then becomes less steep, continuing along the paved mule track flanked by two large stone walls until reaching Alpe Stubin.
Continue through the larch forest until two small footbridges are crossed, bringing you shortly to the houses of Schtovela.
Cross the basin to the right and begin ascending through the larches.
The path climbs steeply to reach the Pitöut Lazouney hut.
A short stretch further leads into a small basin where, to the left, you will find the little Lake Grekij.
From here, only the final section remains to reach the wide saddle of the pass.
The descent follows the same route.
