Start point description
From the Pont-Saint-Martin motorway exit, turn right towards Turin.
At the second roundabout, turn left in the direction of Gressoney.
The road climbs for a few hundred meters before turning right onto the Lys Valley road, which you follow all the way to Fontainemore.
Pass through the town center and continue for less than two kilometres, then, on the right, follow the signs for Coumarial. After two hairpins, the road to the village of Farettaz begins on the left—follow it to the end. Upon reaching the village, descend to the lower car park.
Trail description
From the car park, climb to the right toward the houses of the upper village. A very steep section begins here, leading to the small village of Mouliné, where you leave the Cammino Balteo route and turn right.
The trail continues steeply (pay attention at the junction: continue left, not straight) until emerging into the meadows below the Bonin houses.Continue, passing the Asaré houses on your right, cross the rural road, and traverse wide pastures to reach the Pré houses.
Just above these houses, take the path to the right (not very visible at first), along the Marmontana slope, eventually reaching some huts where it intersects with the Alta Via no. 1 route leading to Col Marmontana.
Follow the Alta Via to the left and climb through a series of switchbacks until reaching the pass, which opens onto the Tourrison valley.
The return follows the same route.
