Brief description
A very beautiful hike that takes us to a summit in the heart of the Monte Rosa group, where we can admire the glacier mass up close.
On the summit, there is a small bell.
Near the top, you can see the base where the Passera bivouac once stood, which will soon be repositioned.
Although the route is fairly demanding, the spectacle of the glaciers makes this hike truly unique.

Start point description
From the Pont-Saint-Martin motorway exit, turn right towards Turin. At the second roundabout, turn left following the signs for Gressoney.
The road climbs for a few hundred meters before joining, on the right, the road into the Lys Valley, passing through the villages of Lillianes, Fontainemore, Issime, Gaby, and Gressoney-Saint-Jean, until reaching the main town of Gressoney-La-Trinité.
Without entering the village, turn right towards Staffal and continue along the road until its end, where there are two large paid car parks.
Trail description
From the large car park, follow the left bank of the Lys stream until you reach the start of the trail.
After a flat section, the path begins to climb through larch trees until you reach the characteristic Courtlys hut, which you leave on your left.
The trail then ascends further before crossing higher up to reach a small basin to the right of the moraine.
Leave the path that continues flat towards the sources of the Lys and take instead the one on the right that climbs towards the Col della Salza.
The trail rises steeply through the valley until reaching the final basin.
Here begins the last section that leads to the Col della Salza.
Once at the pass, continue left, climbing the steep rocky slope and then following a gentler path to the summit, from which there is a magnificent view of Monte Rosa.
The descent is made along the same route.
