Start point description
From the Pont-Saint-Martin motorway exit, turn right towards Turin. At the second roundabout, take the left-hand exit, following the signs for Gressoney.
Halfway up the hill, on the right-hand side, you will find the large car park beside the library.
Trail description
From the car park, cross the road and stroll through the attractive public gardens, passing by the tennis court. Turn right and walk across the distinctive bridge, which offers a fine view of the Roman bridge.
Retrace your steps and take the path downhill towards the bank of the stream. Continue along the cycle path until you reach the railway line; turn right here until you come to a junction. Do not enter the industrial area—keep left instead, following the railway. At the end of the industrial area you pass beneath a viaduct. Just a few metres further on, a staircase leads you up to it. Cross over and you will find yourself on the banks of the Dora Baltea.
Turn right and follow the pavement alongside the river. Continue as the road bends to the right, still keeping close to the Dora, along a shaded footpath beneath the trees, until the path passes under the motorway.
From here, turn left along the road, then change direction completely to begin your return towards Pont-Saint-Martin. Pass the cemetery and shortly afterwards turn right onto a small country lane, which leads back to the paved road that also serves as a cycle track.
Follow this until you reach the athletics track, where you turn left through the railway underpass. Continue a short distance, then turn right onto a small paved lane that soon becomes a dirt track. Follow it along the railway, passing the now-abandoned railway keeper’s house, until you reach the viaduct.
From this point, retrace your steps along the earlier section of the route, returning to the public gardens and your car.
